The Institute of Information, Knowledge and Policy was established as an affiliated research institute of the GSPA called the Research Institute of Public Information Management in November 1992 to study and provide education about public sector information and communication policies in the information era. Since its inception, the institute has contributed to building the foundation and strengthening the capabilities of the information and communications technology industry in Korea. In 2017, it changed its name and assumed a new identity, conducting research not only in the field of the information and communications technology industry but also in other subjects such as content and knowledge network policies. The researchers at this institute include full-time professors at the GPSA as well as researchers with expertise who are affiliated with other institutions.

Since its establishment in 2001, the Knowledge Center for Public Administration and Policy has contributed to promoting policy and knowledge informatization in the Korean public sector by systematically collecting and sharing data in the administrative and policy fields with knowledge consumers.

The National Leadership Research Center explores the role of public sector leaders, including presidents, ministers, heads of local governments, and top government officials (. In addition, the center develops Korean leadership models to aid developing countries as well as leadership training sessions and diverse academic events for Seoul National University students, the future generation of leaders.

Center for Organizational Diagnosis and Evaluation

The Center for Organizational Diagnosis and Evaluation was founded in 2013. Its mission is to build a national-level multiyear database of public service organizations in Korea and, with the help of the database, to promote academic research on Korean public management and to provide useful information for “evidence-based” policy making in the area of organization policy.

Research Center for Market and Government
Founded in September 2011, the Research Center for Market and Government tackles crucial economic and social issues. It is dedicated to guiding the Korean government in the matter of sustainable growth. It specifically studies the reforms introduced to address the undue control chaebols hold over the Korean economy, industry changes, technological innovation, and the social security system. The center’s research focuses on significant problems the Korean economy encounters and proposes reasonable policy alternatives. It also undertakes several research and development projects every year whose goal is to provide a theoretical background for and practical implications of structural reform in the Korean economy. The center regularly organizes expert meetings, invited speaker lectures, international conferences, and policy seminars to disseminate research outcomes and promote knowledge spillover.

Center for Survey Research
The Center for Survey Research investigates people's perceptions of the role and scope of government and provides information based on the their input, which is necessary feature of developing public policy. To this end, the center conducts research on survey methodology, provides in-depth analyses of public opinion, and publishes issue papers and infographics.

Public Finance Research Center

The Public Finance Research Center was established in January 2012 to study and analyze the financial policy challenges facing the government and to contribute to fiscal policy development. The Public Finance Research Center suggests effective measures for managing national finances through research it conducts on public finance. It also aims to promote an understanding of national finance, to show how national development is furthered through the establishment of feasible fiscal policies, and to provide analysis and evaluation of policy alternatives. In addition, the center hosts lectures and policy forums to cultivate human resources in finance-related fields.

Center for International Development Evaluation
The Center for International Development Evaluation, established in March 2014, is a research center specializing in international development sector evaluation. Its mission is to contribute to improving the development programs of recipient countries and donor agencies by assessing aid effectiveness using rigorous evaluation methods in accord with international standards.

Public Performance Management Research Center
Established in 2014 to serve as a key institution in public performance management research, the Public Performance Management Research Center conducts research on the history, current status, and system of performance management in central and local governments and in public institutions. The center goes beyond the new public management paradigm, which regards competition between members of an organization as an impetus to improved performance, by developing a humanistic performance management method and evaluation system so that performance management can be used as a mechanism for strengthening individual and organizational capabilities and thereby significantly contribute to the development of the public sector. Beginning in 2020, this center also seeks to become a global research institution through collaboration with world-renowned university research institutes in each field, including Yale University’s Environmental Performance Index.
