- 각국의 외교정책을 비교/검토하고, 국제사회에서 각국의 나아갈 길을 모색하는 데 역점을 두고 있다. 특히 미·소·중 등 강대국의 외교정책과 중진국 대열에 끼고 있는 국가의 외교정책, 약소국가의 외교정책을 연구한다. 특히 분단된 한국이 격동하는 국제관계 속에서 최소의 비용(희생)으로 최대의 이익을 달성하고, 국가의 생존을 유지하는 방법을 모색함에 중점을 두고 있다. 서방국가·신생국가·약소국가의 외교정책 특징을 비교·검토한다. 각국의 외교정책을 뒷받침하고 있는 국력과 이의 증진책도 겸하여 분석하고, 국제사회에서의 사건에 관한 사례도 연구한다.
This course will focus on comparing and reviewing the foreign policies of other countries We will study the foreign policies of strong nations such as the U.S., Russia, and China as well as those of developing countries and weak & small countries Emphasis will be laid on exploring the way for Korea to achieve maximum profit by minimum cost in turbulent international relations We will compare and review the characteristics of foreign policies in the Western countries, newly emerging nations and weak&small countries We will analyze the national power supporting the foreign policies along with the measures to promote them Case studies on the events of the international society will also be carried out.

This course will deal with and analyze various regulatory policy issues from the politico-economic perspectiveIssues to be discussed range from the economic rationales for regulation (market failure), government failure, the political and administrative process of regulation and deregulation, major policy issue areas in economic and social regulation (among others, entry regulation, price regulation, business conduct regulation, environmental regulation, industrial safety regulation and consumer protection) and regulatory impact analysis (or cost-benefit analysis of regulation) to procedural and organizational regulatory reform measures This course will focus on deregulating economic regulations massively while rationalizing social regulation by taking advantage of market-incentive regulatory instruments It will observe the recent cases of regulatory policy.

- 순수무역이론의 이해보다는 전후 국제무역을 규율해온 주요한 국제무역규범 및 주요국 통상관계법의 내용과 전개상황을 역사적, 제도적, 정치·경제학적 관점에서 이해하고 이들 규범 속에 함축되어 있는 국가간 이해관계의 대립과 갈등, 규범과 현실의 괴리, 국제규범과 국내정치 및 국내법 사이의 괴리, 확대일로에 있는 통상마찰 등 국제 경제관계의 현안과제를 보다 깊이 있게 파악함으로써 우리 경제가 취해 나가야 할 통상정책방향을 모색하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있도록 한다.
Unlike the courses of similar titles that are taught in the economics department, this course gives primary focus on the political, economic, historical, and institutional analysis of trade policy matters and trade policy making Accordingly, it does not require students to be acquainted with international economics Rather, it encourages students to think and analyze trade policy matters in terms of international political economy and from the institutional perspective Among numerous policy issue areas, it pays special attention to the historical review of the current world trading system, the political economic analysis of the major international trade rules (e.g. most favored nation (MFN), national treatment, safeguards, anti dumping and countervailing duties, trade in services, dispute settlement procedures, etc) and the political dynamics of international and domestic trade policymaking It adopts system centered, society centered and state centered approaches simultaneously or separately as deemed appropriate and relevant.

This course focuses on the change of social elements and relations resulting from the pervasion of Internet which is the most typical digital technology and network. It also deals with the public policy concerns with this change. Students will study about the fundamental conception, theory, interaction, action, economic development, space caused by the digital networking, effect on social welfare, and the role ofthe government including the utilization of digital network. This course also discusses the communications and contents policy issues in digital convergence such as horizontal regulatory regime, network effects and standardization, DRM, radio spectrum management, etc.

- 이 과목은 정책과정에서 최고책임자인 대통령의 성격과 활동논리에 대해 강의한다. 국가대표 및 정치지도자로서 역할은 물론이지만 정책결정, 정책집행, 행정조직의 운영·관리 등 국가관리의 최고책임자인 대통령이 정책 및 행정과정에서 담당해야 할 역할과 이를 수행하는 데 영향을 미치는 사회·경제 정치 환경적 요인 및 정부 내외 여러 가지 제약조건을 검토하고, 이러한 제약조건 속에서 합리적인 정책결정, 효율적인 정책집행 및 조직관리를 위한 방안이나 전략을 중심으로 대통령의 리더십 행사를 기능적인 측면에서 검토한다. 대통령의 역할을 보좌하고 때로는 대행하는 관료조직과 대통령 비서실 및 국회와의 연계를 담당하는 집권당과의 관계 등이 구조적인 측면에서 중요한 검토대상이 된다.
This course will focus on the characteristics of and the working rationale behind the President’s policymaking process. We will analyze the role of the President as national and political leader, policy maker and implementer and administrative manager working under numerous constraints of economic, social and political influences and limitations. We will explore the functional aspect of the President’s leadership under such limitations, centering on the methodology and strategy of rational decision making, efficient policy implementation and organization management. We will also examine the relationship between the bureaucracy that supports and at times acts on behalf of the President and the ruling party that is in charge of the connection between the President’s secretariat and Parliament
